Trading Guide

Chemistry Style Trading

Chemistry Style trading is a simple, effective way to grow your coin balance on a limited budget. Players who already have a Chemistry Style applied – Shadow, Hunter, or Anchor – carry extra value on top of their base price, and this guide shows you how to find and flip them.

What is an “added premium”

An added premium is the extra value a card carries once a Chemistry Style has already been applied to it by the seller. Because Chemistry Styles cost coins in their own right, a card with a Chemistry Style applied is always worth more than the same card without one – the exact amount just moves with supply and demand for that specific player.

Timing your trades

This method works every day, but it’s strongest from Wednesday evening through Saturday, when players are building teams for Rivals and Weekend League. Market activity also swings through the day – things are busiest between 4pm and 8pm UK time, which means faster sales and quicker snipes. Outside of those hours the market is quieter, so sniping slows down, but you can sometimes land a bigger margin because there’s less competition on the buy side.

Finding good players to trade

There are two ways to build your list of target players – do it yourself using free public databases, or let our Subscriber Areas do the legwork for you.

Method 1 – Public Databases

The concept is the same across all three sites – find the most-used players and identify which Chemistry Style is most popular on them. On FUTBIN, open the “Player Game Performance” (PGP) tab. On FUTWIZ or FUT.GG, head to the “Popular Players” area. Go through the most popular players and build a spreadsheet of any where the styled version sells for more than 10% above the plain card price – that gap is your profit opportunity. Once you have your list, search for those players in the transfer market with the Chemistry Style already applied and snipe them at the plain going rate – the seller hasn’t priced in the premium, which means you’ve picked up a profitable card. Remember to factor in the 5% EA tax on every sale when calculating your margin. You’ll spot deals faster than anyone working from memory, and your cards will sell quicker because you know exactly what they’re worth. On a low budget, consistent profit matters more than chasing big single flips.

Method 2 – Our Subscriber Areas

We do the legwork for you here. Hover over “Subscriber Areas,” pick your platform, then choose Anchors, Shadows, or Hunters from the dropdown. Each page lists players suited to that Chemistry Style along with buy and sell pricing, so you can spot a good deal the moment you’re in the transfer market.

Things to be aware of

A few small factors are worth understanding before you start Chemistry Style trading.

Why does a card’s value go up once a style is applied?

A Chemistry Style boosts specific attributes, and the boost matters most when it fixes a weak stat or stacks on top of an already strong one. Shadow, Hunter, and Anchor are the most popular Chemistry Styles because they push pace, shooting, defending, and physicality – the attributes everyone wants. The price goes up because most sellers list the card at its plain going rate without accounting for the Chemistry Style already applied – buyers who want a ready-to-use card will pay more for it, and that’s the premium you’re capturing.

Does every card benefit from these three styles?

To some extent, yes, but the real money is in low-rated meta cards – popular starting-team players everyone uses. These sell fast and give you a better profit margin after tax. Higher-rated, more expensive players can still gain value, but the after-tax profit is smaller relative to the outlay. Low-rated players nobody wants will pick up some added value too, just slower, since there’s less demand for them in the first place.

How does the 6pm content drop affect prices?

When an SBC needing a specific rating range goes live, or a new preview pack releases, supply and demand for certain cards can swing hard and fast. That can temporarily inflate a card’s price well above what it’s normally worth. You can still trade through it, but treat those cards as more volatile than usual, or wait it out.

What is the 5% EA tax and how does it affect my profit?

Every sale on the transfer market loses 5% to EA. Sell for 10,000 coins and the tax takes 500, so you actually receive 9,500. Build that into every flip before you calculate your margin – our tax calculator in the subscriber area can do the maths for you.

What should I do if my cards aren’t selling?

Trading takes practice, and not every card moves fast. Don’t panic and relist at a loss the moment something sits – give it time, especially outside peak hours, and stick to the active windows where you can. Consistency over a session matters more than any single flip.

Bidding and sniping filters

There’s more than one way to build a filter for Chemistry Style deals, and the examples below are a starting point rather than the only setup that works. If you don’t land several snipes in your first five minutes, that’s normal – learning the filter menu takes a bit of practice. One simple approach is to search each player from your list one at a time and wait for the next undercut. If your search returns too many or too few pages near the 59th minute mark, fine-tune “Max Price” and “Min Buy Now” until the results feel right.
